As a developing self-taught artist I strive to express the beauty I see in nature. I often use bold colors to attract a person’s sight and stir their feelings for each season. Minnesota’s four seasons are my inspiration. I exaggerate the seasonal beauty in what I paint. My medium of choice is pastels but I also work in watercolors, acrylic and colored pencils. Pastel is NOT colored chalk (which is a limestone substance). Pastel is pure pigment, the same pigment used in making all fine art paints. It is the most permanent of all media when applied to a permanent ground and properly framed. There is no oil to cause darkening or cracking, nor other substance or medium to cause fading or blistering. Pastels from the 16th century exist today, as fresh and alive as the day they were painted!
For the past 10+ years I had worked as an art consultant/picture framer. When you purchase my art you will receive a professionally framed original piece of art that can be enjoyed for years or just displayed during the corresponding season. I sometimes will work a series of paintings representing each of the 4 seasons in similar sizes so you can easily change your display throughout the year. I find this a good way to keep a room fresh and your walls interesting. All my originals can also be purchased unframed or I can work with you on a different frame style. If you have ever had art custom framed you know a large part of the value is in the framing. Thank you for taking a look and I welcome any questions or comments. |
